A holiday in Nepal can hold many kinds of days. Between busy stops, a farm stay gives you a reason to unpack, look around and enjoy where you are. You do not need to fill every hour to make it a worthwhile visit.
Bulbul offers comfortable rooms in a garden setting, with farm food and everyday life outdoors close by. Read our story, explore the photo gallery, and picture the kind of stay that suits you.
Choose it for a quiet base rather than a packed programme. Take a book outside, share a conversation over a meal, and leave time to meet Coco and Leo gently, on their terms.

Road times are approximate and change with the season, roadworks and traffic. Check current conditions before you travel.
Tansen is roughly four to five hours by road south of Pokhara. Instead of driving straight through to the plains, break the journey in the hills and arrive with time to spare for the garden.
From Tansen the road descends to Butwal, the gateway to Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha, and to routes east towards Chitwan. Lumbini is around three hours away, so a farm stay fits between the two.
Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa has flights from Kathmandu and is roughly two to three hours from Tansen by road. Coming overland from Kathmandu is a long day, so many travellers combine Tansen with Pokhara or Lumbini.
Settled weather and clear views after the monsoon. A popular time for travel across Nepal, so enquire early.
Cool, bright days and chilly evenings. Mornings can bring mist over the valleys around Tansen.
Warmer days, flowering trees and a growing garden. Late spring can be hazy and hot in the lowlands.
Rain, deep green hills and fewer visitors. Allow extra travel time, as hill roads can be slow.
Tell the hosts your dates, group size and what matters to you: meals, a relaxed break, time around Tansen, or a particular access need. Agree arrival details and the final price before making firm arrangements.

Bulbul is in Bartung, near Tansen in Palpa District, Lumbini Province. Tansen sits in the hills on the Siddhartha Highway, roughly between Pokhara and Butwal, which makes it a natural pause between Pokhara and Lumbini or Chitwan.
Autumn (October to November) usually brings clear skies and comfortable days. Spring (March to May) is warm and green. Winter mornings in the hills are cool, and the monsoon (June to September) is lush but wet, so allow extra time for travel.
