Days 1 to 4: Kathmandu and Chitwan
Days 1 and 2: Kathmandu. Arrive, recover, then spend a day among the old squares and stupas of the valley.
Day 3: travel to Chitwan by road, which takes most of a day, or fly to Bharatpur. Day 4: an early start for Chitwan National Park with a licensed local guide, and a rest through the midday heat.
Days 5 and 6: Lumbini, then up to the hills
Day 5: drive west across the Terai to Lumbini, which usually takes a long half-day. Visit the Sacred Garden in the late afternoon when it is cooler, and stay nearby.
Day 6: a quiet morning in the monastic zone, then around three hours by road up to Tansen. Arrive at Bulbul Farm Retreat in time to watch the evening settle over the hills.
Days 7 and 8: the farm stay
Day 7: no travel at all. Breakfast outdoors, an afternoon in a hammock, time with Coco and Leo and the ducks, and an evening of stargazing if the sky is clear. A whole day without a plan is what makes the rest of the trip feel less rushed.
Day 8: a morning in Tansen. Walk the old bazaar, see the palace area or head up Shreenagar Hill. Ask locally if you would like to go further, for example to Rani Mahal by the Kali Gandaki. Our Tansen and Palpa guide helps you choose.
Days 9 and 10: Pokhara and home
Day 9: north along the Siddhartha Highway to Pokhara, roughly four to five hours. Spend the evening by Phewa Lake. Day 10: look for the mountains at sunrise, then fly back to Kathmandu.
Every road time on this route is approximate, and monsoon landslides or roadworks can add hours. If your international flight is on Day 10, drop the Day 8 outing and move the rest of the plan forward a day, so you reach Kathmandu with time to spare. You can explore the rooms and send your dates to the hosts when you are ready.
